RHC Jorgensen-Strom confirms 24H SERIES Europe assault

Daren Jorgensen heralds a ‘must-do season’ in 2020.

RHC Jorgensen-Strom has confirmed that it will run the full 24H SERIES Europe campaign for the first time in 2020.

The eponymous team of American entrepreneur, and gentleman driver, Daren Jorgensen is a former class winner of the Hankook 24H COTA USA and claimed a podium finish on its only 24H SERIES Europe race start to-date at Spa-Francorchamps. 2020 though will mark the first time that at least one BMW M4 GT4 will compete at every event on CREVENTIC’s European calendar, a decision based primarily on changes to the 24H SERIES Europe for this season.

"Initially, in late 2019, we felt that the tentative 24H SERIES schedule was not optimal,” explains Daren Jorgensen. “CREVENTIC then mentioned there would be significant changes that might interest us, and they could not have been more accurate! The addition of Monza, Imola, and Portimão as well as Paul Ricard with a few changes to the dates made it an absolute must-do season with the 24H SERIES.”

The California-based outfit has already collaborated with former 24H SERIES class winner Century Motorsport at this year’s rain-shortened Hankook 24H DUBAI, at which the Century-entered BMW M4 GT4 finished 2nd in the GT4 class. The British-American ‘alliance’ is set to continue in the 24H SERIES Europe in 2020, with RHC Jorgensen-Strom set to enter two BMW M4 GT4s in the European season-opener in Monza.

Unsurprisingly, success is the only goal, despite the occasional setback.

“We had a problem, having already committed to the Bathurst 12 Hours and with two of our cars in a sea container in early January, so the [Hankook] 24H DUBAI presented some challenges. But from that, a partnership with Century Motorsport evolved, placing Brett Strom and I in two of the three seats in Century’s BMW, and one that produced excellent results with our co-driver, Angus Fender.

“With a commitment from Century Motorsport to support the 24H SERIES Europe, and from co-drivers Danny Van Dongen and Angus Fender, we chose to ship the two cars that will run in the Bathurst 12 Hours to Monza immediately after the event. Strom Motorsports will support all races and will provide full support for the [Hankook] 24H COTA USA.

“In short, we will let the tracks and races come to us, and nothing less than a podium finish in each race is acceptable.”
